URBAN HARVEST STL

Grow Food. Grow Community. Grow Growers.

What’s the state of food insecurity in St. Louis?

16% of all St. Louisans (and 35% of Black citizens) lack adequate food access.*

45% of St. Louisans lacking food access do not qualify for SNAP benefits.*

31% of children in St. Louis lack adequate food access.*

Families who are Black are 6 times more likely than white families to receive food stamps.*

What can we do about it?

Urban Harvest STL builds community around inclusive and resilient local food systems.

Through our network of 6 farms across St. Louis, we grow around 7,000 lbs of organic produce each year and donate it to those experiencing food insecurity.

A resilient community collaborates to cultivate a sustainable environment. We support young learners and connect new farmers with a community of practice.

We educate individuals of all ages about urban agriculture and sustainable practices through our various programs for aspiring growers.
