Your generous support helps us build a resilient food system while promoting healthy, affordable food access to underserved communities, urban agriculture education, biodiversity development in cities, and community programming. Thank you for supporting our mission as we work together to create a food system that values all members regardless of our differences. Every gift matters- consider giving to our general fund or check out the unique ways to give below.
Many Ways to Give
Give to a Campaign
Farm Materials & Supplies
Donate to our programs by buying some of our supplies! As our programs grow, we constantly need to restock supplies for our Little Sprouts, farmers, volunteers, and workshop attendees. Thank you for considering to give to our Amazon wishlist and furthering the fight against food insecurity in St. Louis!
Tool Lending Library
Urban Harvest STL’s Grandel Square Center for Urban Agriculture will house our first tool lending library where community members can borrow garden tools as needed. This is just another step in empowering people to take back control of the food system in their own backyards. This project is 1% funded so far.
Little Sprouts Class of 2025
Help support our preschool garden curriculum. These lessons help children connect with their food, nature, and their bodies. Produce grown in the garden is used in cooking demonstrations and taste tests during garden classes. The remaining produce is provided to the school cafeteria or distributed to families.
How your dollars support our city:
-
We grow organic produce and distribute it fee of charge to communities with limited and low access to fresh food. In 2023, we grew 6517 pounds of fresh, valued at over $24,000.
Fund Food Security -
Urban Harvest STL invests in people. We understand that merely providing food, while extremely necessary, will not change the food system that systematically excluded whole communities. We provide individuals the training and resources to begin growing food in their communities.
-
Our Little Sprouts Early Childhood Education Program’s goal is to introduce the next generation to where food comes from: the ground not the grocery store. Children who are introduced to healthy habits, living eating fresh fruits and vegetables, less to improve long-term health outcomes.
-
Urban Harvest STL has always practiced organic farming techniques. We feel this produces the healthiest produce for people and the environment. We go one step further and model farming techniques that reuse materials, eliminate the use of harsh chemicals, and improve the biodivesity of the neighborhoods in which we work.
-
In partnership with Rung for Women, Urban Harvest STL established our largest farm in Fox Park in 2020. Food grown at the Rung farm is provided to the female members engaged in career development curriculum at Rung through a free weekly farmers market and nutritional meals curated by Rung's chef.
