Farmer in Training Program
Reflections from Urban Harvest STLβs Farmers in Training.
The Farmer in Training program is a 35 week on-the-farm training program for those interested in a career in agriculture and who have graduated our apprenticeship program. This 16 hour a week program will provide participants a season long farming experiences while allowing them to focus on key farming skills in which they are interested. Supported by the Farm Trainer, Farmers in Training participants work 10 hours a week with our farmers and 6 hours a week on educational programming. The program will runs March through October.
Program participants are paid as Urban Harvest STL staff members, including an hourly wage ($16 per hour), QSEHRA healthcare reimbursement account, and paid time off.
This program is full for the 2025 season.
Applications for 2026 will be posted here in November of 2025. The program is only open to graduates of our Apprenticeship program.
