The Farm Trainer will work in close collaboration with the Director of Education to realize the goals of the Farming for Community Apprenticeship and Farmer in Training programs. The trainer will serve as the liaison connecting the apprenticeship and Farmer in Training curriculum to seasonal farm tasks, lead educational experiences that create hands-on learning opportunities, present content in the training handbook, syllabus, and slide decks, and manage the Grandel Demonstration farm for educational purposes. The Farmer - Rung for Women will be responsible for daily farm operations of the Rung for Women Farm with a special emphasis on chicken care. This position will be an advocate of Urban Harvest STL and support day-to-day operations to build sustainable connections between the farm and the local community. The Farm Engagement Coordinator (FEC) will be responsible for the implementation of educational and community engagement offerings for Urban Harvest STL and Rung for Women members including workshops, volunteer activities, and Rung member engagement events. The FEC will act as the volunteer coordinator for Urban Harvest STL’s 6 farm sites, and lead volunteers in their farm work at the Rung for Women farm. When not engaged in other work, the FEC will work with the Farm Manager and Rung Farmer on appropriate farming tasks.
